About Course

The N5 Level is the beginner stage in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), designed for those who are just starting their journey in learning Japanese. At this level, you will be able to understand basic Japanese, including common expressions, greetings, and simple sentence structures. You will also be able to read and write basic kanji, hiragana, and katakana characters, and participate in simple conversations in everyday situations. N5 is the perfect foundation for beginners who want to develop a basic understanding of the language and start building their communication skills in Japanese.

N5 introduces you to essential grammar patterns, including basic verb conjugations, adjective forms, particles, and sentence structures. You will learn how to make simple statements, ask questions, and give polite responses. This level also covers basic vocabulary, such as numbers, days of the week, time expressions, and words for family, shopping, food, and travel. You will also be introduced to approximately 100 kanji characters and the full hiragana and katakana alphabets, which are fundamental to reading and writing Japanese.

This level focuses on reading comprehension, helping you understand simple written materials such as personal notes, menus, and street signs. You will also learn to read basic sentences and identify important information in simple texts. In listening, you will be able to understand basic conversations, such as greetings, introductions, and daily interactions, spoken slowly and clearly.

N5 also emphasizes speaking and writing with simple accuracy. You will practice introducing yourself, asking basic questions, and describing simple actions, such as what you like, where you live, and what you do. You will also learn to write short sentences and fill out basic forms, including personal information, using hiragana, katakana, and kanji. This level helps you establish a foundation for communicating in everyday situations, such as shopping, traveling, or meeting new people.

By the end of the N5 course, you will be able to engage in basic conversations, introduce yourself, and understand simple spoken and written Japanese. You will also be able to read and write basic texts and express yourself in simple sentences, providing a solid base for continuing to higher levels of Japanese proficiency, such as N4.
