About Course

The A2 Level in Spanish is considered the elementary level for learners who already have a basic understanding of the language and want to improve their ability to communicate in everyday situations. At this level, you will expand on the vocabulary and grammar you learned at A1 and begin to form more detailed sentences about familiar topics like your family, hobbies, travel, and daily routine.

At A2, you will learn more verb tenses, including the present continuous for actions happening right now, and you will also be introduced to reflexive verbs and basic past tenses, such as preterite. You will practice using comparative and superlative forms to describe things and learn to express preferences and opinions with more confidence.

Your vocabulary will expand to include topics such as weather, health, shopping, and travel. You will learn words related to transportation, weather conditions, shopping, and other everyday contexts. You will also learn phrases for expressing needs, giving advice, and making suggestions.

In listening, you will be able to follow slow-paced conversations on familiar topics, like ordering food, talking about plans, and asking for information. You will start to understand short conversations and directions in a restaurant, store, or on the street.

Speaking at this level will focus on discussing your preferences, asking for and giving directions, making small talk, and describing daily activities. You will also practice expressing your opinions on simple topics like weather or hobbies.

For reading, you will be able to understand short passages like simple stories, postcards, and menus, and emails. You will be able to pick out key information from familiar contexts and simple written material.

Writing at A2 will involve describing your daily routine, talking about recent events, and writing simple notes and postcards. You will also work on filling out forms and writing short personal letters.

The A2 Level in Spanish is designed to give you a more solid foundation in conversational Spanish. By the end of the course, you will be able to engage in basic conversations on a variety of familiar topics and understand more complex written materials, preparing you to move on to B1, where you will tackle intermediate communication skills.
