About Course

The A1 Level of Chinese is the beginner stage for those starting their journey in learning the Chinese language. At this level, you will be introduced to the basics of Mandarin Chinese, including essential vocabulary, simple sentence structures, and pronunciation. You will learn to communicate in basic everyday situations, such as introducing yourself, ordering food, and asking for directions. The A1 level is designed to help you understand and use familiar expressions and simple phrases for concrete needs.

At A1, you will learn to use basic grammar, such as subject-verb-object sentence structure, question forms, negations, and common particles used in everyday speech. You will start building a vocabulary for everyday activities like greetings, numbers, time, food, and travel, as well as begin learning the Pinyin system for pronunciation. You will also be introduced to a small set of Chinese characters, which will form the foundation for your reading and writing skills.

The A1 level focuses heavily on listening and speaking skills. You will learn to understand and respond to basic questions about familiar topics, like your name, nationality, and hobbies. You will also practice speaking clearly, using simple phrases to ask for information and express basic needs. In terms of reading, you will be able to recognize and understand simple signs, menus, and short messages in Chinese.

The A1 Level also includes learning the fundamentals of Chinese culture, helping you understand simple cultural references and etiquette in Mandarin-speaking regions. By the end of the course, you will be able to navigate basic conversations and understand basic written content, setting the stage for advancing to the next level, A2, where you will expand your communication skills.
