About Course

The A1 Level in French is the beginner level for learners who are just starting their journey with the French language. This level focuses on the fundamentals of the language, helping you develop a solid foundation in basic communication. At A1, you will learn to handle simple and everyday situations where you can interact using basic phrases and expressions.

At this level, you will start by learning the alphabet, numbers, and essential vocabulary related to greetings, introductions, family, and basic needs. You will practice constructing simple sentences using the present tense, focusing on subject-verb agreement, basic adjectives, and articles. The A1 level helps you engage in basic conversations like introducing yourself, asking for directions, ordering food in a restaurant, and making small talk about your daily life.

In listening, you will be able to understand slowly spoken French and identify common words and phrases in simple conversations. For instance, you will understand short greetings, basic questions, and responses related to familiar topics such as shopping, weather, and transportation.

Speaking at A1 involves basic interactions. You will be able to introduce yourself, talk about your hobbies, describe your daily routine, and ask for basic information like prices or locations. You will also practice pronunciation and learn how to form simple questions.

For reading, you will be able to understand basic texts such as signs, menus, advertisements, and simple emails. You will be able to extract key information and understand everyday written materials.

Writing at A1 will involve composing simple sentences, such as writing short emails, filling out forms, or creating a personal introduction. You will focus on writing basic descriptions and routine activities in a simple and clear manner.

The A1 Level is designed to build your confidence in French and allow you to navigate basic interactions in French-speaking environments. By the end of this level, you will have the skills to participate in simple conversations, understand everyday texts, and express yourself in a basic but effective manner. Moving forward, you will be ready to continue to the A2 level, where you will expand your vocabulary and grammar.
